Where does Obama stand on homeschooling and cyberschooling? Sometimes when he talks about setting aside differences I agree, but other times he seems to be talking about something that scares me. If I can choose to abort or give birth, I want to choose how my child is raised and educated. |

He's against it. I didn't save any links during the campaigns, but there were plenty. McCain is/was all for expanding HS'ing and virtual schools. I'm sure a 'net search, or time on NEHN or HSLDA's sites will net some results. |

Try the link below, it will give you some idea of where he might stand http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=87929 Close to the bottom of the article is a quote that President Obama stated about this issue "It's embarrassing to find ourselves in the company of Somalia, a lawless land," Obama said. "I will review this and other treaties to ensure the United States resumes its global leadership in human rights." Last Edited on: 2/11/09 9:16 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thanks. I have to wonder, if children don't want to be homeschooled and the parents can't force them...then if they don't want public schooled, can the parents force them? Anyway, his logic is bad. I mean, we could be considered close to Somalia in that we both eat food, too, ya know? That doesn't mean we have to DO something about THAT.

the public schools are such that homeschoolers, with virtually no "professional" training or certification are excelling and surpassing them in quality. This is especailly embarassing given the money spent on public education per pupil versus the amount spent by homeschoolers. In terms of sending my children to public school, I will be happy to send them - right after Obama sends his daughters! |
