So, have y'all been excited about all these newly released HF movies lately?

Did any of you go and see The Queen?  What did you think about it?  I couldn't believe how well they did with the casting!!

My oldest son is a manager at the local movie theater and they are having a screening premiere of Elizabeth I: The Golden Years for just employees (the movie doesn't come out in theaters until mid October) and he asked the GM if I could go and he said he didn't forsee a problem with that!  WOO HOO!  The only thing is, I am afraid that it is going to be very similar to the Elizabeth I movie that came out just a few years ago.

I wish they'd make a movie about some of the other kings and queens for a change ...

I thought The Queen was a very well made movie.  Helen Mirren was spot on.  I'm looking forward to the new Elizabeth movie.  I've been going back and forth about The Other Boleyn Girl, as it's one of my fave books, so I want to see it but I just don't want the story ruined!  Anyone know why they pushed the opening date back from December to February?  That makes me think the studio doesn't deem it as "Oscar worthy" and thus pushed it back.

I can ask my son to ask around at work to see if anyone there knows why they've moved the date back and then let you know.  Seeing a movie like this ... made especially from a book ... it is tricky ... because the movie is never as good as the book and if you're like me ... you sit there and nit pick the movie apart the entire time!!

The new Elizabeth movie looks really good. Of course I still need to see the first one. :) I'm excited that Anne of the Thousand Days is now out on DVD for all of us Americans. :) I haven't picked up my copy yet but will ASAP.

Looking forward to The Golden Age on Friday..contrary to other people I loved the movie Elizabeth, regardless of the historical flaws, so I'm anxious to se this movie.
