Ive read all the little help topics on this website...but there is nothing like getting help from the people who really use this site :c)   Im 34 and have been reading romance novels since I was about 18 or so. I adore a good trashy romance novel! Historical Romance set in England is my drug of choice. I do like the light romances...but I read those so quick its almost a waste of money. At least Historicals keep me busy for a day or so..hee hee. I put a few books on my bookshelf if anyone wants any of them just let me know! You have no idea how happy I am to find SO many people who love romance as much as me! I get funny looks when I ask anyone I come in contact with if they read romance. Any pointers on how to get credits besides buying them would be fantastic...but I will most likely have to buy a few. I have requested a few books and cant wait to get them as I am on my last book I have on hand...which is scary!! So happy to be among you guys!

Do a few posts in the Book Bazaar and also the red sticky thread at the top of this forum.  And when you get done reading a wishlisted book, post it here for us romance readers to snatch up!  The more you make yourself "known" to the group, the more people tend to want to trade with you.  ;-)

And welcome!

I had difficulty earning credits when I first joined.  Then I listed my kids books and there were lots of requests and so my credit balance grew.  Look for books at yardsales that you can list, offer deals to attract folks and get credits, check out FOL booksales to find other titles to list here which might generate a request.  Good luck and I'm sure you'll enjoy the PBS addiction!

Just be really careful in the Book Baazar. Hanging out in that forum got me in alot of "trouble" when I first joined-when my TBR lists simply exploded because of all the good deals I found!

And...welcome!

Welcome Karrie! (:

I quickly fell in love with this site the minute I have discovered this site! Hope we are able to swap books sometime! I too am a fan of historical romance novels and I'm like you.  I love my "thickies" (thick romance novels since the thin ones make me forget about them the moment I'm done with them lol)

I also recommend using the book bazaar like all the other members that has posted before me lol (:

Karrie T. (spinblossom)  No one mentioned box-o-books yet.  It costs $8 a year but if you join, you and all the boxers can trade as many books as you want for postage only.  Trades don't have to be one for one either.  When I just started reading romance it was a great, cheap way to get lots of books to try at almost no cost.  If you want to know more, go here.   Keep in mind that the quality on BOB will probably be a little less because you'd be trading in volume and a lot of times the books are older.

Welcome Karrie!

As everyone mentioned, the book bazaar is a great way to get credits, but have you looked at the games forum?  It's a great way to get books.  I would recommend trying one game to see if you like it or not.  I know they may seem confusing at first, but everyone is really nice and if you say you are a "newbie" most people would jump in to help you.

I started with a VB (virtual box) and then worked my way to the elephant swaps.  Check out the Heart Shaped Romance Virtual Box, it's a lot of fun!
