Anybody want to take it up for next year?

What topics would you like to see included or excluded?

I'd do it again.  I thought the categories we used this year were good and I can't really think of any that were missing.  Maybe someone else can.

My own personal challenge for the next year is each month to 1) read the book on my TBR that has been there the longest, 2) read and post a WL book, and 3) read a book that is on my bookshelf, but not included on my TBR.

Maybe we could have a category for reading the 10-12 oldest CF books on your TBR.  I think it was for points this year and I don't know if you want to do that again next year.  Seemed like a lot to keep up with (for you and for us).

We don't have to do points again.  I just thought that it would be different.

I've been really bad at recapping it but am planning on getting it updated before Nov. 1st.

Might check out some of the awards list to see some of their categories, like Christy's and Inspys.

I personally like the Christian challenge.  I probably do it a little different than other people in that I want to get rid of books so I focus on the categories where I already have books to go in the specific categories.  I am to the point where I just don't want to add any more books to my house just to say I read a category.  So since I use the challenge that way it has helped me read & post books that have been sitting around here for quite some time.  For example for the one about read a book centered around a holiday I read all the "Christmas" books in Donna VanLiere's series.  And I loved the section about read 10 of the books that have been on your TBR pile the longest...I put 12 titles down at the beginning of the year & after I finish the one I'm reading I will only have 3 more in that section.  It feels good to have a goal that makes me read books that have been sitting around here for a very long time. :)

Hi

Not sure if you are wanting to expanded outside the realm of fiction by if you do....

...read a commentary on a book of the bible (many are quite short---under 50 pages)

Read a book on theology topic

Read an entire book of the Bible in one sitting :)

Read a Christian Classic ==fiction or non fiction

Read gene Christian Lit; such as Sci Fi, Fantasy\ etc

Read a book from an indpendent publisher--not the major Christain publishing houses

I'm in for next year.  I did really pitifully poor on both the CF and HF challenges this year.  I'm with Lisa...focusing on TBR.

I didn't participate in 2011, but I wouldn't mind joining the challenge for 2012.  Are there still plans to have one?
