OMG this book bored me to tears!!!
The first book was just OK, at least it had a mystery involved and some sort of character development. The first 200 pages of this book could have been omitted completely as this book dragged and dragged!! I skipped about 14 chapters just to skim the last chapter to get closure.

It seemed that 99% of this book is a clear reflection of the authors personal taste in music, books, and remants of her own failures in highschool. The main character's entire family just seems to hate her which to me is a complete turnoff. Turn 1% of herself into a vampire and you get this awful awful book.

This book lacks some serious substenance and should be classified as chic-lit. Do yourself a favor and skip this one completely! In all honesty, if you like paranormal stuff, this is not it. Give me some blood, guts, gore, mystery, sex, anything! ANYTHING~! This book had none of that. Just a bunch of winey characters that needed to get over themselves and grow up.

If I could give it "0" stars, I would. The only good thing about this book is the cover, which is completely misleading! I will not be reading anything else from this author again.

The heroine spends most of the book complaining about events related to her friend's wedding such as the lame bridesmaid dresses. Many attempts at "southern humor" and overly obtrusive family relationships. Absurd, not much character development. Needed more plot, such as the heroine actually dating or doing stuff. She had some interactions with her sire but seems like the premise was oversold as dating.

Was expecting a paranormal romance, didn't get it. The main characters whining and the way her family abuses her ,was a huge bore.

Just finished this next in line to Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs. Hands Down, a cute read. It picks up where Zeb and Jolene's wedding is being planned, it is Titanic-themed. Jane's new job, Mama Ginger causing havoc, Jane and Gabriel, Dick Cheney, Andrea, a few new additions. This book has many "Laugh Out Loud" parts in it. It kept my interest and was very enjoyable...I am looking forward to the next one...Excerpt is in back of book..(Nice Girls Don't Live Forever-2010)

This is the second book in the Jane Jameson trilogy (the third book is Nice Girls Don't Live Forever). It was a great installment in the series, although I didn't like it quite as much as the first book.

Jane has gotten roped in to being the Maid of Honor at Zeb and Jolene's wedding and is stuck playing sympathetic ear to their problems with the future werewolf in-laws. Meanwhile Gabriel, supposedly in love forever with Jane, keeps disappearing on business out of town and won't tell Jane what it's about. As if that's not bad enough Jane's grandmother is planning marriage to the guy she brought as a date to her last husband's funeral; and there is something seriously off about grandma's new flame.

I didn't like this book as much as the previous book because the story line is pretty scattered. Jane bounces between dealing with money problems, Gabriel's absence, Zeb's problems with Jolene's family, Jolene's problems with Zeb's mother, and her grandma's strange boyfriend. It is kind of unfocused. Most of the issues are dealt with and wrapped up by the end of the book, but the plot wasn't as tight as the first book.

I still enjoyed all the crazy characters and their hilarious antics. I enjoy the intelligent and witty banter between the characters. It was nice getting to know Dick better and getting to learn more about Jane's employer at the occult book shop.

There were a few things that bothered me some. We don't see a ton of Gabriel and his relationship with Jane doesn't progress much from where it was in the first book. Then there are the women in Jane's family. Where they were pretty funny in the first book, in this book Jane's evil female relatives just got to be a bit much for me. We do see a little tenderness added to the character of Jane's mother, but Jane's sister and grandmother are evil and vile creatures that I got sick of reading about. Hopefully Harper either spends less time with these characters in the third book, or gives them a bit...more...well character.

Overall this was a fun and witty read and I enjoyed it. I thought the plot wandered around more than it should of and I missed Gabriel. I also am sick of Jane's evil female relatives. I am really looking forward to the third book though, to see how all of the Gabriel issues are resolved.

Nice girls Don't Date Date men is funnier than the first one (Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs). I predict fans of Mary Janice Davidson, Stephanie Roe and Michele Bardsley will adore Jane Jameson. She is sarcastic and spunky and laugh out loud funny.

True there isn't an over-abundance of plot. The story is mostly about Jane enduring the countdown to her best friend Zeb's wedding. Complete with a Mother-of-the-GroomZilla; the world's ugliest bridesmaid dress, and the first "Titanic" themed wedding. I found it hysterical. Add plenty of Jameson family drama. And snappy one liners and you get a fun evenings escape.

Molly Harper's grasp of small town dysfunctional family dynamics is spot on. If she isn't orignially a small town girl she channels one in her spare time.

Oh shit. So glad my family is not like Jane's. Or Zeb's. Or Jolene's. 'Cause really?! At first it is funny, but then gets bit annoying. Think multiple rude, manipulative, and un-loving comments and behaviors. Jane does (kinda) stand up for herself. Then there is Gabriel (do not find out who Jeanine is in this one, so maybe book 3), the master of business trips and communication. Jane repeatedly doesn't call him out on suspicious behavior because she don't want to be known as "that girl." She eventually does (kinda) say something. What makes this book enjoyable, for me, is the snarky writing and cast of characters (and you could say even the ones I don't like). Definitely made for very interesting reading.

I thought this book was a lot of fun. Jane reminds me a lot of Betsy in Mary Janice Davidson's vampire series except she is a bit more down to earth and less ditsy. I love it when she rambles on. The side characters adds to the zanniness. There are definitely laugh out loud moments.

I think it is better if you read the first book before this one but not necessary. Just get ready for a lot of silliness.
