I got this book on a recommendation and I'm so glad I did. It's a beautifully written, deeply emotional and searingly honest story of love and loss and acceptance and strength and the human spirit. I think anyone with a physical limitation, chronic illness, etc., would really relate to the many feelings of these characters, but also find their story brave and uplifting. Because of my own health struggles, I felt this story quite personally.

Published in 1987, the details are a little dated and the cover a little cringe-worthy, but this story is not what you'd expect from series romance.
