This is the classic story behind the American airborne invasion of Normandy. Originally written in 1962 it provides a Pre-PC view of what it takes to win a war where armies existed to kill people and break things. A bit refreshing when contrasted with the hand wringing whinging of the modern media. The book is a serious study of the training, tactics and history of the largest airborne operation in history.
