I really enjoyed this shorter story in the world of Malaz. Esslemont seems to have a slightly 'lighter' touch in his writing and it is a nice difference from Erikson. But similar enough that there isn't a disconnect when reading about familiar places or people. Got some nice backstory for the "Book of the Fallen" series...
