My first experience with this author. I've already ordered the first two books in the series about Doc Ford. Very entertaining and fast paced. Doc Ford is a complicated man with interesting friends. The book is about Doc searching for a young girl from Guatemala who has witnessed a crime and been kidnapped.

Night Vision lacks the sophistication of many of the Doc Ford stories. It's almost as if the author HAD to get out another book to satisfy his publishing contract or something (much like the situation with many James Patterson books). I started reading the Doc Ford books because they were a cut above the typical pulp fiction stories, much like James Lee Burke, but the last couple have NOT been up the authors proven ability. This is more-or-less a typical kidnap/chase/revenge story with few, if any, surprises or twists. Of course, if you're like me, you'll HAVE to read it because it's Doc Ford!
