Probably been discussed 100xs but I'm tired of wasting my time on crappy books.  I have quite a few of both authors but I've never read any thing by them...any advice?

I tend to like UF better than PnR if that helps on the suggestions.  Thanks!

If you like Urban Fantasy better than Paranormal Romance than you probably won't like either author.  They are light comedy para romance.   I have only read a couple of Nina Bangs and did not care for her writing style.

ETA: I like Lynsay Sands when I am in the mood for something light

I haven't read any Nina Bangs but I enjoy Lynsay Sands.  It's what I call "fun" reading.

Lyndays Sands is fun ready. Not that much of a NB fan. If you like urban fantasy you can try:

  • Jenna Black's Morgan Kingsley series and her Guardian series
  • Laura Anne Gilman's Retriever series
  • Caitlin Kittredge's Nocturn City series

If you don't already have them on your list

I don't mind light and fluffy.... I like Victoria Laurie, Michele Bardsley, Katie McAlister etc... I'm just not a fan of say...Lora Leigh, Kenyon, Feehan.  I started collecting a lot of paranormals  before I actually figured out what I liked and w over 300 books sitting on my shelf I am trying to decide what I'm really going to like and what I should just get rid of!

Thanks for the suggestions Ruth...I lvoe Jenna Black and Caitlin Kittredge, I've got a couple of Gilman's in my TBR  but haven't gotten to them yet!

well, i just put this in another thread, but here it is again:

with Lynsay Sands, i would definitely recommend Single White Vampire.  it is still my favorite, and very funny.  if you don't like that one, i wouldn't bother with the rest.  that does seem to be the first published, though not the first chronologically, and it was the first one i read.

Nina Bangs - ask me in about a month.  ;)  i liked Wicked Nights enough that i got the other two in that trilogy, but i've had them both in TBR for just over a year and i'm finally getting to them.  unless they get bumped again for something else.  i only remember the castle from the first one and not many of the specifics.  but if it took me a year from book 1 to book 2, it apparently wasn't super good.

I've pretty much been reading paranormal since the beginning so I have to say that I enjoyed both authors like everyone else has mentioned for lighter reading.  I still read both series but it's strange that I like the first 3 Lynsay Sands books the best but I like the later books by Nina Bangs better than her earlier ones.   I can't believe that the early Lynsay Sands books are being re-issued--it doesn't seem that long ago that they first came out to me:LOL:

Reading one from each author's series should give you an idea on whether or not they appeal.

These are two of my favorite authors and loved everything I've read by both authors.
