I requested a book on a deal advertised in the Bazaar (and PM'd the seller) that is about to time out... WHY advertise a deal if you aren't going to actually honor or at least reply!!?? This past weekend I also had a request from someone for a children's book... she did not request the deal that was advertised on the bazaar that weekend, but whenever someone orders from me I always let them know if I am currently offering a deal. Not only does that feel right and fair to me, but it helps everyone if it generates more traffic in the Bazaar! :) She ordered Saturday evening. I PM'd her then, and again Monday to remind her, but she never bothered to respond at all. Even if she didn't want the extra free books, is it SO hard to just say "no thank you"?! ARGH!

For the first life may have happened. A kid could be sick an emergency could have happened god forbid there may have been a death in the family. Cut em some slack they may have a legitemate reason for not responding. For the other it seems very rude but they may have not responded cause they really dont want the extra books. If its about to time out just send it. If they come back later and say they wanted the deal then its their loss. (didnt mean for either of those to sound snarky smile when you read them it might make them sound chipper) |

Anyone that orders from me when I'm running a deal, I do PM them and let them know they can choose more books for free if they wish. I always give a deadline though and tell them they need to get back to me by a certain date and time otherwise I'm going to mail the single book they ordered. Solves the problem of waiting for them to get back to me. People that advertise on the Bazaar and never get back to me, grrrr, that one is frustrating. I do make a note of their name so I don't waste my time ordering from them again. If the request is about to time out, I'd just cancel it. |

That is why, if I get an order thru FIFO, I don't let them know about any deal because, if they don't respond, what am I to do? I recently accepted a great deal in the BB and never heard another word. The book was marked mailed, but I wont find out if I got all the books in the deal until it gets to me. *shrug* bummer |

Yeah I did give them a deadline when I sent the 2nd "reminder" about the deal. I know things happen, it just kind of irked me to get two in the course of a weekend. The one who requested from my shelf I had PM'd literally moments after her request came in, so she probably was still online even!! That's the one that irritates me the most... I've had books time out before (but never on a deal being offered), and I've read people being frustrated on that one but good grief when someone offers you something extra FREE it just seems the height of rudeness to not at least say "no thanks"!! I'll let the request time out on its own... it wasn't anything I had wishlisted, but I'm still kind of bummed about it. |
