I know that it isn't a rule that the cover of the book posted has to match what the cover of your book is.. But I just listed 7 new books last night and out of that 7 only 3 of them had the same cover as what I had...
My question is, does this make people mad when they receive a book and the cover isn't the same as what is posted?? My ISBN are correct and everything, my cover is just different..... Any thoughts on this?!?!

It shouldn't since the site does mention covers don't always match.  I've received books with different covers and it doesn't bother me a bit.  As long as the book isn't damaged, I'm happy. :-)

I think people rarely notice this - I know I don't!  I'm more interested in the story than the cover.  I have heard of some isolated incidents where people get huffy about this, but all you have to do is direct them to the help center's information that the cover doesn't have to match.

Most people, I think, realize that this might be the case.  I've seen people on here complain that they got a complaint because the cover didn't match. But it doesn't have too and you don't have to PM people before hand to tell them either.  You can if you want to but it's just asking for trouble if you ask me.  What if they don't respond, who cancels the request if they don't want the old cover etc...,

If people are concerned about getting specific cover for a collection then they need investigate before they order: posting in the book bazaar what they are looking for or finding it elsewhere.

I actually got a Requestor Condition one time that the covers must match the PBS pictures.  Needless to say, I refused that order.  I wasn't about to run upstairs to see if the covers were the same.  I could see if there was one certain book they wanted in a certain cover, but every single one that they requested?  What if there was no picture for one of the books they ordered?  Then should the book you send be coverless?

dawn -

tell me you really did not get a request saying the cover had to match ! UNREAL! i think i would have not sent it either. i guess some request are out there ! and what makes it bad is they give all the requests a "bad name". I don't have any request - but, i worry because i do get books from garage sales and friends - WOW LOL still can't believe that one!

Usually I don’t care what cover the book has, as long as it’s readable.  Only once did I pm the sender to make sure that the cover was the same as shown, because I specifically wanted that edition to complete a set.
