My generation 1 Nook (yes, an "antique") has had problems freezing up pretty much the whole time I've had it.  I read on B&N.com to remove the battery to see if it worked. I also had a Nook rep on

the phone walk me through it as well. What happened? A freakin' factory reset from a simple battery removal!!! All I did was take the battery out, wait the required time and place it back in. My

devil possessed Nook decided to go back to the 1.2 version instead of the 1/5 version, then did all kinds of funky things!

I called a rep at B&N and she had to walk me through setting up my whole Nook all over again :(I was nearly in tears.

I had 60 books on my Nook that reloaded fine. My 120 sideloaded books organized and shelved to my specific tastes.....ALL GONE :( BooHoo I am so over my Nook.  The rep said if my Nook continues to freeze

up like this or decides to reprogram itself again to send it in. Lovely.

I was in the middle of a cute historical romance by Jerrica Knight-Catania called A Gentleman Never Tells. 1/2 way through!!  Thank you for letting me vent :)

Oh, ouch. Nancy is right, and you might want to download Calibre to making finding and organizing your sideloaded books easier.

I have a spreadsheet  on my MacBook with a list of all books organized by where I bought them, etc. I also have Adobe Digital Editions on my desktop and all my e-books are all in working order

and organized now. They are sideloading now and appear to be working, just a PITA to do 100+ of them. But if the factory-reset actually worked and my Nook stops freezing up I'll be a happy girl.

If it freezes at all this week I'm sending in for B&N to fix. They said it's expedited fixing-shipping process.....3-5 days turnaround time. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty protection program :)

I never have that problem with print books. Even if missplace them, they turn up eventually.
