Now at $80 Here.

I really like mine, but be aware that on board memory is very low. Most of the advertised space is sectioned off for direct downloads from Barnes and Noble.

But you can buy a microSD card to sideload books on it. I have a 16 gig in mine working well.

Also, I've seen it leaked that the new Nook announcement next week will include the new version of this reader with a price drop to $99 once the new Nook Color is announced.

Score! Here's how the conversation went:

Me: "(hubby), what I'm about to say is truly tacky. But, you know how you always say I'm hard to shop for? Well, that upgraded Nook I've been toying with upgrading to went on sale. What would you think if I went ahead and bought it and you wrapped it for Christmas?"

Hubby: "Yup. That's tacky (laughing). Go buy it but you don't get it until Christmas."

Lol! Congrats!

My DH practically begs me to pick out my own stuff for Christmas.

The feeling's mutual, since he's into the "Maker" world (making their own robots and stuff) and I'd have no clue what to get him. Works out so much better when you can pick out your own stuff. smiley Everyone's happier.

I would love to get the new Kindle Touch for Christmas. I usually pick my own present b/c otherwise I probly won't get anything. But might get something for the kitchen instead.

Buy yourself one, wrap it and put it under the tree with no card. Then give your hubby a big, sloppy kiss while you say thank you. He won't dare say anything.

Mine arrived yesterday. I handed the box over to DH. No touching until Christmas.

Nah, that was the deal and I play fair. Don't misunderstand though, I'm still reading on my Nook Classic until then and I am feeling a slight bit guilty about the whole thing because the Classic is still a perfectly good machine. I just wanted the new, shiny one.

Gotta admire you Nancy!!  There is no way that I could hold out until Christmas!! I'm pretty weak willed when it comes to readers/mp3 players/computers/etc.

It has a one year warranty with the refurb. It's the first time I've ever bought myself a gift and then handed it to the hubby to wrap.

I can wait. I know what I'm getting and that I'll like it (LOL)
