I liked it - good characters, interesting plot and setting. Kept my attention and it was a quick read. Not sure I came away liking the main character very much but I can appreciate her situation.

Strange but enchanting.

This novel was easy to read in spite of the heaviness of the topic. Imagine being abandoned by your own mother and then, many years later, coming upon her. What would you say? How would you feel? Perhaps you would actually feel more love for her than she for you. A shocking revelation. I enjoyed this book and particularly liked the detailed descriptions of life in the north, where it is so very cold.

I loved this book. It's beautifully written and a page-turner that I couldn't put down.

I don't know why, because the subject mattter doesn't really warrant it, but once I got into the book - I couldn't put it down and had to read the whole thing through. I really enjoyed it.

Maybe not the best book I've ever read, but a good, engaging, and fast read. Would be a good airplane read - engrossing, but not too taxing.
