Is there a place within paperbackswap where I can save notes to myself besides on individual books?  I have a couple books I want to add to my wishlist, but they are not currently available in the system.  I want to save the ISBNs somewhere convenient so I can check back, but I don't want to put the note on a book and then forget what book it was or something.

You could tag them.  As far as I can see NOtes are not searchable. You can bring up a lit of all the notes you've made. You can with tags though.

Although I'm not quite sure why you need a seperate list of them if you are adding them to your WL. You can keep track of your place in line by looking at your WL.  If your WL is full you could tag books with something like "J.B.-add to WL" or something. THese kind of personal tags are allowed. Then you can just bring up that tag and all the books you tagged with it.

I need a list because I can't add them to my Wish List yet.  When I search for the ISBN under "All Books" I get no results.  I am just looking for a place where I could save the ISBNs so that I can check back at a later date without having to hunt for the ISBNs again.  I guess I could see if it is possible to PM myself.

Nope, I can't PM myself.  I ended up just putting a note on a slow moving WL book, but it would be nice if I had a private place to put notes to myself.

OK I see what you mean.  I know some people have posted the book to their shelf (having their shelf on hold) to get it added into the system. Not sure how you do that though.

You could put the ISBN#'s in your profile.

You could add some random book to your reminder list and keep your notes there.   As long as it's a book you never intend to order it should just stay onyour RL so you can find the note.

Not perfect, but means if someone posts a WL directly to you for some reason you don't lose your note and have to go find it.

You can add them to your Reminder List, which is unlimited. They will show up with a "Post this Book" not "Order this Book" which really makes them easy to separate out. I have done this in the past when my WL was maxed out but I wanted books "on deck" that I could know to bump in there when spots become available.

Heather that only works if the book is in the system. The system has not added the books yet so she can't do anything.  I would put the #'s in my profile to store them and then just keep checking.  You can open 2 windows and then copy/past the ISBN# into the search engine.  If that still doesn't work-keep checking the author and title. Sometimes they are in there but take some playing around to get them to come up.

Hey, you can PM yourself if you add yourself as a buddy to yourself.  Once you are your own buddy,  you can send a PM from the Buddy List.

When you do a search there's a save search area, put in what ever you want to call the search, I just use the ISBN. Then you can come back to it under Search at the top and then the saved search button. I've got over 30 ISBN's saved that way.

Try adding it to your TBR list.  I  have seen suggestions for doing this in order to be able to WL a book not yet in the system- haven't done it myself, but from what I've seen others who have done it, it seems to work.

If none of that works for you, you could always start a list in your notebook on your profile page.  Just list the books and the ISBNs there and you'll be able to go back and copy and paste them into a search anytime you want.

Thanks for the tip on saved searches!  I'd never done that, but it seems to work perfectly.

I must have just been lucky, because if I can't find the ISBN, I can usually find it under the name or author, even if it is a book that is months away from publishing. I then put them in my reminders and it shows 0. When I see there is one there, or I have credits and room on my wish list,  I can go grab it! If you have word or a calendar program or task list or even microsoft notes, just put the list in there and call it up when you want to copy paste.
