Jen Lancaster (one of my absolute FAVES) is quoted on the cover of this book: "Charming, hilarious, and just snarky enough to be ultimately satisfying." I will agree with charming, but it's just somewhat snarky. I found it to be more like matter-of-fact opinionated and almost arrogant in a comic way. I did not find it to be hilarious. Amusing, perhaps, but I certainly wasn't belly-laughing out loud. If you are looking for that, try Laurie Notaro or the aforementioned Jen Lancaster. If you're looking for wry commentary on what Quinn Cummings has been up to, then this is your book. I will say, however, that when Quinn writes about her high-maintenance young daughter, Quinn is at her best. I found those portions to be the funniest and most relatable.

The first part of this book reminded me of hearing a joke without the punchline, as though it lacked substance & humor. However, I'm glad I continued reading because it got better. It never really made me laugh out loud, but there were a few moments I giggled a little.

I didn't know who Quinn Cummings was before reading this so maybe it would have a different effect on someone who wants to know more about her.

Quick read. I give it 3 stars out of 5.
