I just logged in this morning to print a wrapper - and kept accidently clicking on ads galore.  (Plus, pop up screens telling me some movie or sound function is not up to date - which is true - since I don't need movie/sounds on this machine).

I don't remember seeing a notification that the ads were coming (although doesn't mean it wasn't in something I have in my to be read later folder).

So, I'm guessing PBS is now using ads.   Many sites that do ads give you an option to pay and then you don't have to be bothered.   Will PBS be doing this?   (If not, it would be a shame since I've been here since 2006 - but not sure I want to deal with a site that does ads).

Thanks in advance for whatever people know.

PS - If Ads are required - there should be a restriction on what they require on a person's machine.  I just tried to go into Discussion Forum and the pop up was asking for some viewer (FLV M player) - I have never heard of.     (Yes, I just closed the pop up - but then had to click on the Discussion Forum button again to get into it)

PSS - AARGH.  So Not only ads on the bottom and top of EVERY page you go to - but also the "clickable" words ?????    AAARGH - Clickable words are SO annyoying because if your mouse is anywhere near one where you are reading you get a "screen tip " and have to move your mouse to continue reading.  (Oh and the screen tips - not so helpful - I had my mouse near the word books the the pop up say manufacturing jobs in your area click here).

I promise now, I'll stop adding to this post.  But, that's only because I am so frustrated that I am logging off.

Suzanne, PBS doesn't do pop-up ads.  You might want to run a malware and virus scanner on your computer.

You've picked up a bug, I think. There are no ads on PBS.

Bummer --- I hope you can find an easy fix!

I am very happy to hear that it is just me and not the site.  (Yes, frustrating that I will have to clean up my computer - but that is an easier fix than finding a new book trading site).
