Now that the holidays are behind us and the  cold days of staying couped up inside are here I have noticed an increase of requests here.  Three in two days!

Yes, I've gotten a few requests for books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while in the past week.

My surge hit before the Holidays were over.  I had my account on hold, took it off and had 6 requests in the first day.  Then I put it back on hold.  I might take it off today.  I just didn't have much time for mailing the last 2 weeks.

I love the immediate weeks Post Christmas.  Now everyone needs to hurry up and read the books Santa brought for them.

Not yet, but I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks more orders will come in.

I'm doing the WL book dance .... I've had 7 offered to me in the past week.

I love the after-xmas book rush!

Yes, but I posted 9 WL books last weekend, so I did expect the bump.

Had my shelf on Hold for the Christmas/New Year period. Went off Hold and had two requests within a day. Plus I have 3 WL books coming.

Had some WL books come in. I only have two in my inventory so I have nothing in the way of requests. I suppose I should review my books and see what I wouldn't mind parting with, but I find I want (and keep) more books than I get rid of.

With the upcoming postal increase I am also looking at my books on my bookshelf that are WLed and if I sense that I might not ever get around to reading it, I am posting them now before the rates go up.

I've had my account off hold since a few weeks before Christmas.  I got a lot of requests right before the holiday, but had to cancel most of them because I got really sick (still not quite better, fail). No influx of WL books for me yet, but hope springs eternal.  In years past I have gotten a post-Christmas rush, so we'll see.

@kayc   You have your bookshelf on hold.  Makes it a little hard to order from you.

I have six books, wrapped, addressed and waiting for the post office to open. Four books enroute to my house. It has been busy the last week for sure.

Not for me, I haven't had a request or an offer since before the holidays and I never put my account on hold.

I'm with Clarinda. No requests from me, only WL books I posed after the holidays. Then again, I only have 5 books on my shelf!

There is a direct correlation between how many books on your shelf and how many requests you get! You can not expect a steady stream of requests with only 5 or 6 books or even 20 or 25 books. I maintain my bookshelf at between 300 and 350 books posted at all times and with that amount listed, I have a request nearly every day. Sure, now and again I will go a week without a request but never longer than that. Plus with a larger bookshelf I get more multiple requests; within the last two weeks I have sent out 6 multiple book requests from 3 books to 12 books in a single request.

I  went for several months without any requests- then  a request from a nice lady for 2 books.  The next day, I had requests for 3 books.  2 were new books, one had been on my shelf forever!  I was out of credits, so it was perfect timing.

There was an article in Woman's Day magazine this month and we've had a ton of new members in the last 2 weeks. That could help explain the increase the number of requests, in addition to the post holiday increases.

I got 5 WL books offered to me just today...I think that is my new personal record for one day. Gotta love January!
