A shocking, inspirational bestseller, Nurse is the story of eight weeks in the life of a nurse in a large urban hospital. It is all here: the joy and pain, the death and drama, the mistakes, successes, and secrets. Nurse reads like a novel, but sticks in the memory like real experience-because it is.

I would recommend this book to any nursing student or new graduate. It gives real insight in regard to relationships between nurses and doctors as well as the nurse-patient relationships. It describes cases of actual individuals and their histories. While certain things have changed in the 25 years since the book was published, it still makes for an informative and very entertaining read.

A suggested read for anyone looking to enter the medical profressions. Since it's a memoir, this book helped me to get my head around what I was really in for.

When I first got this book, I thought that I would put this up for trade after I read it. However, I realized that this book is too good and informative to let go. Sorry, I found it at B&N if you are interested.

Excellent memoir about being a nurse. A bit outdated as new medical equipment and CPR has changed the outcome of some critical care situations. However the true sense of what nursing is about comes shining through. Really enjoyed reading this touching memoir.
