I keep most of my WL books on auto acceptance; it's easier for everyone that way.

This has happened to me.  You get people who are inactive or have gone on vacation without putting their account on vacation hold or people who no longer want the book and are too lazy to cancel the offer. Be patient. Someone out of all the wishlisters will take it.

Just think, you are helping PBS by clearing off all these missing members.

From what I've gleaned here in the forums, if a book offer isn't accepted it is removed from their wish list. After a certain (unknown) number of non-responses to book offers, the person's account is put on vacation hold (or suspension, not sure) and they are sent an email asking them to respond before their account will be reactivated.

So yes, being patient does help to make the process faster in the long run. Keep it posted and you'll eventually get to someone that is happy for the offer.

Darlene, I feel your pain.  Am having exactly the opposite problem.  I ordered a book with only 5 copies in the system (to start with) and after two tries it's about to go to the 3rd person for "no response" from the first two.

Anyone have a "must have!" dog training book on your shelf that's better than this one?  Training Your Dog - The Step By Step Manual
(I already have, and already read "Dog Traning For Dummies.)

I didn't mean to hijack the thread; please send me private PM if you have something to recommend.  Thanks!

eta:  Wow, I can't believe it.  The book was accepted and printed about an hour after I made this post!  Yay!

My record was 7 people before it got requested.  It's annoying but you are possibly helping to weed out inactives.

Darlene- This has happened to me quite a few times over the last few weeks. They were all highly wished for books too... Some had 200+ wishers, and they just kept rolling over. Maybe some people are traveling for spring break. *shrug* I knew they'd all get taken eventually. It does make it hard to post multiples to WL's though... I can see why people would want to use the multiples thread or just post to friends if they're trying to do that.

I have been reading so many WL books or ones that just came off the WL that I've mailed out 8 books in the past week.......usually mail that many out in a month.  But I very very rarely ever get an order for more than one book at a time whereas I have been looking at the rest of a sender's bookshelf with every book I order for the past few months to help others save on postage.

Somehow I let a wish listed book, posted to me slip by me this week.

Am not sure how that happened except I seldom go to my main account.

We aren't ALL dead beats when we let a wish list slide by.

Cozette: Don't you get an email when you're offered a book on your WL?

I do Ed and read it on my phone.   Came online and just completely forgot about it.   Was a busy week and it just got away from me.
