I tried to post a book using the ISBN on the back cover and the book did not come up. So I turned to the title page and noticed the ISBN was different. I entered that number and the book came up. So I thought I'd pass it along that if the back cover number doesn't work, check the number on the title page just in case they are different.

I've had a few books with this too.  Older books with no ISBN on the back cover but one listed on the publishing page.

Make sure all points match on the book when you do this. I've noticed that some publishers put the ISBN of the HC version in the front of a paperback, or list all copies available for that book.

Older paperbacks have the ISBN in funny places - like in a corner of the the front cover.

Sometimes older paperbacks have the ISBN on the book's spine.
