I'd never tried the swap at GR, the only two swap sites I've tried is PBS and Bookmooch. The one plus with BM is that sometimes a book will be available there that isn't here, but the downside is that people can take forever to respond (or never respond) to a book request, and even when they do (finally) they may take just as long if not longer to send the damn thing. I've received some books in rather shabby condition, not bad enough to make a fuss but nothing I would ever consider postable here at PBS.

I agree, there's no timeframe requirement on Bookmooch, so it can be very frustrating on that level.  I use it as an auxiliary, mostly when I have a book that I want to add condition notes to, that wouldn't be postable here.

Those are the only two I've used, though.

Is GR going away or just the swap?  I like their reviews and the ways you can control lists.
