Following up on a post (Kathy's HF Game) from our clever Shelley:

In fact, [lipstick] is one of those " you're going to be stranded on a desert island and can only take 3 things" for me.  One of the other two things I'd take to the desert island would be my Mt. TBR.  Not sure what the third would be - that varies depending on the day.

So let's assume 1) Mt. TBR, indeed, counts as just one thing and 2) basic needs such as food, water, shelter, internet access, and a device to use it, will be provided.

I agree that some kind of lip covering would also be a must have. I get fever blisters if I'm in the sun too long with out protection. So, be it chapstick or top of the line siren red lipstick, if I'm going to be stranded on a desert island, I will need protection for my poor, sensitive lips.

Mt. TBR is #2 (and I can use the boxes needed to get Mt. TBR to the island as shade for my poor, sensitive lips!).

And so ... my #3 today is Mom! Linda & I had such a fun afternoon! She is a great friend, as well as my Mom, and we are blessed with a great relationship. She is smart, keeps me entertained, tolerates my idiosyncrasies & is usually up for any adventure I come up with. To be two ol' widder women, we have a rich, rewarding life and I would happily have her on my desert island!

What about you? New kitchen gadget or lawn mower that is absolutely the bomb? Did a child or DH do something particularly clever or endearing? Who or what gets a shout out today?

Thanks Donna! I took one look at his picture on Pet Finders and said "now, that's a real pip"! And he is!

We've had Pip for 3 years now - he's 4 yrs old. We also have a 10 yr old Yorkie that we took in last September because she was wandering around the HOA lost - no tags or chip. We tried everything to find her owner but no luck so now we have her. We also had a 13 yr old Shepherd (Jet) but she died in January. Jet and Pip were best buds but Pip really dislikes the Yorkie  - she's very bossy (DH named her "BooBoo" as in big mistake). So poor Pip lost his angel and ended up with the devil! We're trying to make up to him for that though and the devil is calming down a lot! What a zoo! Did I mention that it was DH who really, really wanted the Yorkie? So she is his and Pip is mine - YAY!!! (All my life I've rescued dogs and cats - usually having at least three at a time.)

Awww, Pip's a cutie! Good for you, Jeanne, helping these poor dogs.

My #3? Toilet paper!

Thanks Genie! I've had the best "pups" that way!!! They always seem so appreciative....and, of course, they are treated like kids!

Well, I love that Mt. TBR counts as one thing...and I'm guessing that no one will know if I throw some previously-read favorites on the stack as well. Then I need a device that turns fictional characters real...if I can have Jamie or Lymond or Sabine or William or Justin or Sharpe at my beck and call...then, well, I don't think I need the "third thing" -- oh, wait...I'll need chocolate!

I am a little late to the forum, but my poms would be on the list. That's two of the three. My third would be goggle. Then I could read anything online. "We should be careful what we wish for." I am too old for a desert island adventure.
