Here is a book written by a creative and intelligent man, and one who had the opportunity to work directly with Oasis as part of their touring company. It's possible that he exaggerates the importance of his job, based on what others have said, describing his role as "road manager, minder, and all things filed under miscellaneous", while others have referred to him simply as a "roadie". This doesn't make his observations any less interesting, though, and his first-hand accounts of interactions with the band, along with descriptive jaunts into the poetic, make for an unusual, enjoyable read. He got treated to Liam's insane side more often than not, and was occasionally responsible for physically restraining Liam to prevent a massive brawl from erupting. Liam, naturally, was not his biggest fan and eventually persuaded Noel to sack him, which is how the book ends.

In the course of the narrative you'll be treated to skinnydipping in Japan, the band getting egged, a batshit insane fan letter, and lots and lots of Drugs & Drama with a capital D. This is the story of Oasis prior to the release of Morning Glory, just as they were bursting into the limelight of huge fame. The stories get pretty outrageous, but Robertson makes a point of also talking about the band's dedication to the music. Liam is distraught when his voice fails (which he expresses via explosive rage), Noel is able to transform any conversation into one about music (especially the Beatles), and Oasis are depicted as serious contenders for the title of Best Band Ever. Great read.
