The usual ingenious complex plot. Characters well drawn, but almost too many of them to keep track of unless the book is read in only a few sessions. Need to focus to follow the plot.

Tanya Bigelow was a solemn little girl when Dr. Alex Delaware successfully treated her obsessive-compulsive symptoms. Now, at nineteen, Tanya returns with a curious request; that Delaware investigate her aunt's deathbed confession of murder. While Delaware doubts that Patty Bigelow was capable of such a horrific act, he agrees to look into the matter. Armed with only the vaguest details, Delaware & LAPD detective Milo Stugis retrace Patty's and Tanya's nomatic & increasingly puzzling life. Then a very real murder tears open a terriying tunnel into the past - where secrets & bodies are buried. As the tension mounts, Delaware & Sturgis uncover a tangled history of desperation, vengeance & death - a legacy of evil that refuses to die

It took me a little bit to get into this book. I haven't read Kellerman before. I had to start it twice. Once I got 70 pages or so into the book I had no problem finishing it. The story line was good and not entirely predictable. The characters were tiring in only a way that real people can be. I will probably read another Kellerman book but will try something outside of the Alex Delaware series next.

While Delaware doubts that Patty Bigelow was capable of such a horrific act, he agrees to look into the matter. Then a very real murder tears open a terrifying tunnel into the past, where secrets - and bodies - are buried.
