This is a wonderful love story about a man's love for his children. After his wife dies he is so depressed he has a hard time coming back, but love from outside...his parents, strangers...and a boy bring him back.

For six dreadful months David Corstorphine has tried to come to terms with his young wife's death, while caring for three motherless children. ry as he may, David is unable to return to work, and his only form of solace comes from working in the garden of his parents estate in the Scottish countryside.
I thought the author spent too much time describing things that are just fillers, like brushing his teeth before going to bed etc.

Sent to New York on an impromptu business trip with the hopes of helping him get back on his fee, the journey proves both disastrous and heartening. As he learns to accept his enormous los, he is able to open his heart to love once again.
