This is the second book I read from Jill Mansell and I love it! It's a breezy brit chick lit; it takes a bit of time to get used to the british slang and the rapid & witty dialogue, but once you do, you just don't want to put the book down!

After reading An Offer You Can't Refuse, I am now determined to read the rest of Jill Mansell's books!

Not as good as some of the other Jill Mansell books but enjoyed it just the same

This was my least favourite of the Jill Mansell books I've read.

Lola borders on TSTL (too stupid to live). She dumped her boyfriend 10 years ago for a very noble (and not very plausible in real life) reason.

When she meets up with him again 10 years later, she's still madly in love with him and expects him to feel the same way.

She still acts as if she's 17 around him and in general. Its hard to believe she's the manager of a big book store because she just doesn't have the maturity to handle it.

When someone comes to rent the flat (apartment) across the hall that she wants her ex's sister to have, she turns the music up loud and boils up a bunch of cabbage so she'll appear as someone you wouldn't want to live next to.

Everyone in her life, aside from her ex, finds her enchanting but 2/3s of the way through the book, I gave up and read the last 3 chapters to ensure the HEA I was expecting happened.

I only rated it as highly as I did because I love Jill Mansell. Sadly, this isn't her best effort.
