I'd like to find a violin instructor for my daughters. I like the Suzuki method, but there are no Suzuki teachers registered in my area. For those of you who have children taking music lessons, where have you found lessons? I'd rather do a session of private lessons first, since she's never taken any lessons, but I would prefer group lessons later, for the cost. Any ideas? If it helps, I'm in southern Colorado.

You might try a music store that offers lessons. Ask if they have a private violin teacher and what age requirements they have. I know most ps won't start strings until 4th or 5th grade. I want to start my 3rd grader on piano so she can learn to read music and then ask if she wants to try a different instrument when she is a bit older.

Is there a college with a music program near by that might have students that could teach? I heard that our state university (which isn't too far from us) has a piano program for parents and young children together. (I never looked into it myself, as we didn't have a piano) Last Edited on: 8/28/07 10:58 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Is "ps" public school? What they do it of nooooo concern to me. They are backward in pretty much everything anyway. LOL My daughter is in the 4th grade now, though. Not sure if the local colleges have a music program. I would assume they have some sort of program. I'll check there. Thanks! |
