I loved this book. It was quick (I read it in one afternoon), and funny. And, as a mom of three boys, I could totally relate to the author. This is not an advice book - just something fun for those of us girls in a house full of boys!

This was an uneven book. It is a group of essays and some are brillant and some ho-hum. As the mother of sons (no daughters) myself, I appreciated Kasdin putting into words some feelings that I have had, and she does that very well. Her essays on parenthood are insightful too, and I suppose the mothers of daughters would enjoy those. She also includes some essays on feminism and her thoughts on the differences between the sexes which are also well-written - one example is an essay on magic where she notes that women want to have magic happen to them, and men want to perform magic.
