is it ok to post books with minor flaws like a name only in the front cover or barely noticeable water damage or some other minor flaw, IF, in writing a PM to the person that wants the book you disclose this and the in writing respond that it is ok? thanks for your help, im new to this!

Names on the front cover is fine (with no PM).  Any type of water damage is NOT (even with a PM).  Any other writing within the book could fall under the text book clause which requires a PM and acknowledgement from the requestor.

Janelle, you'll want to go to the Help Center and read "Book Condition Criteria for 'Swappability' at PBS", which will cover all the details of what can be posted and what cannot.  Just search for "condition guidelines" (without the " marks) and you should find it easily.

You should never post a book that doesn't meet the PBS criteria for books.  You MAY ask for a credit, in the Book Bazaar, for a book that doesn't meet the criteria.  BUT you have to have the requestor gift you a credit and then you can send them the book.

Putting UNpostable books within the system in a no no!

The Help Center tells you EXACTLY what you can and can not do!

Welcome to PBS Janelle!  Becoming familiar with the Swappability guidelines will probably save you some headyaches on the learning curve.  The Book Condition Criteria is particularly informative.

I'm remembering a newbie thread from a month or two ago, asking experienced members what we wished we'd known when we were newbies.  There was some great info on the thread, but now I can't remember where she posted it or the title...anyone??

Hi-

I have a related question...I have a price written on the upper right hand side of the paperback book from a used book store...no other flaws are on the book. Can I still post this?

Thanks!

Yes. It's completely fine.
