Just kidding ,

I just start to make a dent in my RL ( by ordering them)  ,as if I need more books...LOL and then you all make suggestions which sound reall good,so I add more to my list and run out of credits.

Does this madness ever stop..?

Nope, I just ordered 11 books from one member and have a ton of books on my nightstand that I need to get read - I even told her I was out of my mind requesting 11 books.  Plus the various library books that need to be read before due date and the library holds I'm waiting on.

I have to agree with everyone else - No, the madness doesn't stop.  When I joined PBS, I thought it was a way to get rid of books.... Well the jokes on me!!

I am in the same boat.  I have had up to 150 credits in my account    I haven't had any credits in a while and of course my with list is full to the tits.  Oh well.  I will not buy credits, I will not buy credits, I will not buy credits..........

Up to 150 credits - ugh you make me sick.  I'm just happy if I can reach a 20 credit balance (rarely) and then start feeling the shakes if it goes below 10 with WL books pending - and the WL books have been coming in force lately.  I don't know how you all do it with large, large credit balances, I must be missing something or reading too slow or not finding enough other sources to list titles from.

For the first 2 years that I was here, I rarely had less than 70 credits.  I don't have the postage budget I used to have. Now I usually keep 5-10.  I'm down to 5 now.

Nancy, I was sucked in the same way!  I've gotten rid of some books, sure.  But I've gotten addicted to whole new genres thanks to PBS.

The most I've ever had at once was 12 credits. I don't like to keep tons of books on hand for listing though so that probably plays a role. I keep most of my books because I'm a book hoarder (childhood dream house was one with a turret, a big garden. and a library like the one in Beauty and the Beast - and that is still my dream house today, coincidentally) and it's difficult for me to list them. Almost physically painful at times! I'm biting my nails going "What if...this pretty mediocre book suddenly improves itself twenty years from now but by then it's rare and super expensive and I can never. Read. It. Again."

WOW , the most credits I've ever had at one time is 9. How do you guys accumulate so many..? Or do I just spend them as fast as I get them? probably that..lol

No, it does not! I have so many WL books coming at once, it is not even funny. I have to keep at least 10 credits on me at all times, LOL! And it does not help that I am always looking in the BB at the deals there and discovering more books I need.

I used to have very little credits until I started going to the local UBS and Goodwills. I have found a lot of WL books there (As long as they are cheap, even if they are not something I want to read, I will usually buy just to post for others here). Also, I try to read my WL books as soon as I get them and repost them before there are no wishers and that seems to help me build up credits. And too, offering book deals is always a big help!

For one solid year I posted every book I owned that I would never read again.  At that point I owned over 600 cookbooks and ended up posting 300 of them in 12 months.  I think only 3 were not wish listed or requested.   The fiction was probably 500 books.  Of course, then I had money to mail all these books, lol.

And boxing was one way that I found alot of books that I have since read and swapped in deals.  I don't box anymore because it is like sending a drunk to the bar......

Now I have shelves full of great books that I need to read.  Some are wish listed but most are not.  So that is why I am out of credits.  I have read three WLed books this week to bring some credits to the table for my own Wish list.

I don't think I'll ever be a boxer, I still want to get rid of books.  I should just take a box a month down to Goodwill and quit fooling myself that the Harlequins I have will ever get requested.

I originally acquired so many because I lived on an island and had been saving books for months to take to Half-Price books which was 90m away. Then I heard about PBS. I had probably 20 or so WL audiobooks in that pile.  Most of what I had was WL (this was 3+yrs ago when there were a lot less books and members on PBS).

Then not long after I joined, I found out we would have to transfer in 2008.  I had a house to declutter and sell.  So for a long time I sent out as many books as I could but ordered very few. By the time I moved I had over 70 credits even after having sold a couple of hundred. I didn't even come close to filling my WL until I moved to MD.

Ditto. Lol.

I've given a lot of read books new homes, but yup, I've also collected a lot more. I still seem to have just as many as when I started.
