I have old Lisa Kleypas on my WL for one reason.....I love the covers.  Has anyone read them and are they better or worse than her newer stuff.

How old are we talking about here?

Lady Sophia's Lover and Where Dreams Begin are among my all time favorites.

Like the old late 80's stuff I'd basically trade my firstborn son for?  Which incidentally, isn't much of a stretch; he's 15 and a total mutant:P  But back on topic... nope, sad to say, I haven't so much as seen one of the old, old ones.

Yeah and I hate to spend the 20 someodd dollars that they are going for without knowing if they are as good if not better than she is today.  They're not even in my library to try to check out.  But the covers are just so 80's bodice ripper which is unlike the covers of her more recent stuff.  I was surprised to see she even went that far back.

I was too, to be honest.  And I think I knew or realized they probably weren't all that - even though I have them on my WL, and they cost the moon on ebay:P  Hell, I collected some Mary Balogh books a while back that are a tad on the crappy side if you ask me, but I didn't collect them to read.    They're collectibles:P  I presume the same thing is true here.

I've only read When Strangers Marry and Only With Your Love although there's a couple novels that predates that.  I found these two books to be lacking because it seems as though she was still trying to find her writer's voice.  I don't think I'm missing out on much, I own her later works from the 90s on...and those have been solid.
