Sure, Hubbard was a quack, but this was a fun, lighthearted sci-fi book. Felt almost like he had a touch of Douglas Adams in him when he wrote this.
Hubbard, like everyone else who founds a religion, was insane.
This an important piece of science fiction history and worth reading on that account. However it reflects a worldview that most would call reactionary by today's standards. Certainly not one I share.
