Hmmm, this one is stuck right in the middle of three and four stars and neither fit!

I love Cat and Bones and, unlike others, I love their relationship in this book. Rather than all the drama between them, their's is a solid yet deepening relationship with a love so strong it's palpable. That is wonderfully refreshing and encouraging. I love how Ms. Frost writes their relationship, the subtle looks, Bones intense support of Cat and defense of her against anyone who even thinks derogatory thoughts of her... Yum!!! I love the give and take between the two of them, watching them learn to compromise for each other. I disagree with those who believe there must be tension to make it interesting.

It's the over abundance of verbiage that lowered the stars (and the interest) for me. What has always been Cat's endearing, snarky and often humorous offside commentary in previous books, seemed to overtake the plot-line in this story. Almost as if there wasn't enough of a story to support a full-length novel so filler (lots of it) was needed and Cat was used as the culprit.

Example:
"My concerns were laid to rest when I spotted a ghostly figure floating over the park's rolling hills, wearing a business suit instead of an old, mended tunic. I didn't know what made certain clothes appear on ghosts - Don hadn't died in a business suit, after all - but that wasn't what I was burning to find out. He'd barely gotten with earshot before I started in on him."

Boiled down: The ghost of Don showed up wearing a business suit.

A paragraph long commentary isn't bad, and with Cat, it is often snarky fun. It is when that paragraph turns into every paragraph with only snippets of storyline and action interspersed that it starts turning into a yawner.

A Ghost named Elisabeth approaches Cat Crawfield about a killer. Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter who killed Elisabeth and dozens more. Now every Halloween, he takes physical form to torture three innocent women before burning them alive. Cat and Bones are determined to send this ghost away forever...if they can just figure out how to kill someone that is already dead.

This was an interesting installment in Frost's Night Huntress series. We get to see Cat and Bones loving relationship. There is no angst or secrets in this book. Instead we get to see the trust between them.

I liked the plot of this book and couldn't figure out how they would stop Kramer from killing again. There wasn't as much snarky humor like the previous books, but I did love the addition of Tyler, a medium who is helping them contact Kramer. My rating: 5 Stars.

In this sixth book of the Night Huntress series, Cat and Bones fight an evil ghost as a favor to their ghost friend, Fabian. There's a really funny secondary male character, a ghost medium who has the hots for Bones. If it weren't for the ghost medium, this book wouldn't have much humor. This book was lacking something. I didn't want to read this in one sitting like I normally do when it comes to a Cat and Bones book.

In this book, Cat and Bones have a solid, healthy relationship. They don't have the insecurities and angst they once did about each other. There's no Vlad or Annette to create any tension. However, I wish Frost had written more romantic scenes. This book is very heavy on the action and pretty light on the private time between Mr. and Mrs. Crispin Russell. It's chapter after chapter of the ghost story. The ghost attacks, Cat and Bones react. Rinse, lather, repeat. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is the first Night Huntress book where I've skimmed certain chapters. The book goes a long time without any kind of smexy scene between Bones and Cat. That's just so wrong. We all know how good Bones is..as a vampire. That's what I meant. And the sexy scene that is in the book is ok. It's nothing like the infamous chapter 32 in the second book. In short, I felt this story was more like urban fantasy rather than paranormal romance.

This is the sixth book in the Night Huntress series. It was a good addition to the series but was more of a transitional novel. It was good to see Cat and Bones get something of a break and fun to read a story involving ghosts.

In this book Cat and Bones are asked to track down a killer ghost by one of Fabian's friends. When Cat becomes one of the ghost's targets her and Bones have no choice but to try and figure out how to fight something non-corporeal. As a side story Cat's old team is dealing with some tough management changes after Don's death.

This was a fun story and a quick read. You learn even more about ghosts in this book as Cat is still suffering from the affect of drinking Majestic's blood in the last book. There are some new characters that join the story as ghost hunters that are amusing, but not in the story for all that long. You also learn about some additional powers that Bones is developing as well.

While this was a fun read and had some great action scenes in it; it was more of a one installment kind of book. The majority of the problems presented are wrapped up nicely. The only thing I found disappointing was that there didn't seem to be any multiple book encompassing story introduced. It made me wonder what it next for this series.

It was nice that Cat and Bones got to stay together as a couple through the book. They work wonderfully as a team and didn't have to suffer as much heartache in this book as in previous books. It is wonderful to see them as a happy couple with a relatively healthy relationship.

Overall this was a nice addition to the series. It was fun to learn more about ghosts and to see Cat and Bones develop more powers and learn to control them. This seemed like more of a transitional novel though; there wasn't a new story line introduced that will span multiple books. This makes me wonder what is next for this series. I did enjoy the fact that Cat and Bones got a bit of a break in this book and that they got to spend the book working things out as a couple. I will definitely read the next book in this series, but I wonder where this series is going long term.

Quick side note, this is the first book in the series that I read versus listened to on audiobook. I have to say I enjoy the audiobooks a lot more, in the future I will try to get these on audiobook instead.

This was an ok book, not my favorite. I liked the plot but miss the romance between Cat and Bones. Now that they are married the series has become just paranormal in nature, the romance is missing.

Cat and Bones never disappoint! They are challenged to hunt down and capture the ghost of a witch hunter who can become a physical being on Halloween. TLove the introduction of Tyler, the medium. I certainly hope he is around for future books. 4.5 stars

I really enjoy this one. I think the series just keeps getting better and the characters grow along with it, except Ian. He is still an obnoxious pervert but that's what makes him great.

I love that Bones and Cat are finally comfortable with their relationship. They work so well together. The addition of Tyler, the extremely effeminate gay lusty medium, was cute. You also got bits of Spade, Denise, and the rest of the gang.

The plot was great although I think the end was a little abrupt. I would have liked more on how they trapped Kramer but regardless it was a fun read.
