I read a great book sometime between 4^th and 7^th grade about a badger and a little boy.  The Badger was caught in a trap and the boy is lost in the woods and they take care of each other.  I’ve been trying to think of the title so that I can get it for my kids to read and I can’t remember.  Does anyone know the title?

I think it's Incident at Hawk's HIll by Allan W Eckert.   It's a Newberry Honor book.  

 I just found it again and re-read it.  Saving it until my 2 year old grows up to it.  :)
