I have found that when there is only one book in the system... it is often not a hot moving item and was most likely posted a long time ago by someone who doesn't come check their accout much.

I have also found that if I'm the only person wishing for a book - it takes a long time for someone who has it to post it!  Can't win sometimes.

There is a thread in the book bazaar called "1/1 on Wishlist" where you can post books where you are the only wisher and maybe remind people about a book they have just sitting around.  I wouldn't have thought it would necessarily be that effective, but I had no less than 10 of my 1/1 WL books offered after I posted in that thread.

... when I post a book that is wishlisted by only one or two people that I like to send them a PM before they accept.

The reason why is I have found out that a lot of the times when they are a single wisher that the book will time out and of course that means it drops off of their wishlist. I keep track of these time outs and see if they end up ordering that WL book later on.

I've noticed that if there's only one wisher and that person declines or lets the offer time out, someone else seems to come along and order the book pretty soon.
