I received a book that did not have an "intact binding" and marked it rwp.  But I marked the wrong book!  The one I marked I hadn't gotten yet, so I went to the right place and got that settled.  Except for the fact that I had marked a book received that hadn't been received AND still hasn't been received!  This was on 5-14, so I am afraid that I will just have to "eat" this one!  Unless someone here has a suggestion.

And by the way, when I pm'ed the person who did send the book, she told me that "No, I wouldn't send out a book like that".......Well, she did!  Maybe I shouldn't have, but I let it go.

With summer here and the hot tempertures that we are having I am wondering if we will have more books received without intact bindings....

The one you marked as received and haven't is a loss if it doesn't show up. Unless you can convince the sender to give you back the credit, but I doubt they will. The site won't do anything about it. They caution in the help to make sure you are marking the correct book because it cannot be undone.

The real RWP, you can mark it as still unresolved, but it doesn't sound like the sender is willing to return the credit. I do believe that cleaving is something that can happen in transit or once it gets there, I have had books that I double checked and no cleaving on the first or second look, but on the third it cleaved. Was it really that way when she sent it? Who knows, but if she/he says it wasn't and they aren't willing to retur nthe credit, there's nothing left you can do.
