As an elementary school teacher, I agree with almost everything she says. Her basic theory is that standards require children to learn too much and that there's no room for teacher creativity or choice of what to learn in the classroom. However, she has a rather scattered writing style, and her sarcasm is a bit wearing (she repeatedly refers to people who favor across-the-board standards as "Standardistas".) It may be a little out of date (No Child Left Behind has hit since she wrote it.) She has a website, where she is still scattered and still battling (Susan.Ohanian.org)
