I'm having problems getting the hang of this hobby. I have never tried to paint, but thought I should give it a try. I don't usually take hobby classes. I just play with whatever it is I'm trying to learn until I get it, but this is different. Has anyone ever taken a painting class and does it help? Or this is a talent you are born with? Thanks....frustrated! :l~ |

Thanks, Jan. I think you're right. Dip, Dip, Blend, Dip, Dip, Blend, Dip, Dip, Blend, Dip, Dip, Blend. I think I have it. LOL I was also not taking time in blending the colors. I purchased the "One Stroke" brushes, so that is not an issue. But when I used the size brush that she recommended the flower came out too small. Maybe its because I didn't have enough paint on the brush and it didn't spread out. I won't give up. I'll hit my palette again this weekend and will let you know how it went. Thanks again for all the advise and links. It really helps if you can see someone painting an actual design. How about coming down to Miami and teaching a few lessons here! ;)

Hi, I just noticed your post. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the one stroke painting. I started it quite a few years ago with no painting knowledge or training. It took awhile to get it, I just kept trying and finally got it. I do know that in my area (NYC) most of the Micheal Craft Stores have instructional classes that did help me. Good luck & keep painting. Shay |

Thanks again Jan! Since I have the summer off, I'm going to give it another try. But I feel like such a drop out! LOL |
