Hi,

I have lots of credits and wanted to used some of them up before I continue swapping. Plus with the holidays and the crazy time of year and economy, I knew that I couldn't really afford to ship books right now.  So, I looked up how to put my books on hold.  Perfect I thought! I went to my bookshelf to the books listed (appx. 150 books)  and checked ALL for books on hold.  But now, it is combining them with the books that I have received (over 500) with the books that are on my shelf.  Technically they are all on hold (the ones that you receive remain on hold until you release them).

Is there a way to release just the ones that were on my bookshelf again?  I only want to post the 150 on my bookshelf.  Not the over 500 that I have recieved.  I don't want to pull out the box of 150 books and go through title by title to mark them posted again.  Is there a shorter way to do this?  I think that I may be sorry I did this...

Thanks!

Oh Casey,

I fear you will be sorry too. The only way to do this is to check each one, and now that you have placed them all on individual Hold, they will all lose their place in the FIFO line, so it will be as if you are posting them for the first time. I dont think there is another way to do this but I will ask someother Tour Guides who may have a different answer and post here if I get some better news.

Casey...

I hate to say this but Cheryl is absolutely correct...by putting the books on Hold the way that you did you will have to redo each one of them and you will have lost your place in the FIFO line...and there is no way to do them all as a group, you will have to do each one individually.

I know this won't help now but, if in the future you want to put your books on Hold use the Vacation Hold and then the books that you still want to receive (or have credits for) put on Auto-Request and you will still get those.

Thank you for answering.  I was afraid that you would say that.  Well now I know better!  (Slaps hand!)  But, how do we learn? By making mistakes...Oh well.

I guess that I will set aside an hour or so when I get ready to repost.

Thanks so much for your help.

Casie: It will actually only take about five minutes to repost them all....they will be back at the end of the FIFO line though.

Go to your account and click on the button for your bookshelf. Choose "Books on Hold" after you click on the View button. Then click on the button marked "Resort". In the first box sort by "Date" and in the second box sort by "Descending". Now the last 150 books that you put on hold will be at the top of the list.

Simply click on the little white button at the right of each book listing. When you have clicked on every book on the page go to the top and hit the ""Post" button. All fifty books will now be reposted. Now go to the next two pages and do the same thing. It's important to click the "post" button before you go to the next page or the books will become un-checked.

If you have received any books within the last few days they will be at the top of the books on hold list too so skip over them and make sure not to click on them before pressing the post button.

Put your account on vacation hold NOW and then release the books you want to from the hold. That will have you higher up in the FIFO line by the time you end the vacation hold.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Especially to Sandpiper.  That worked great!  I will definately also take the advice of sbcmopsmom to put them on vacation hold and allow them to work up the vacation hold.

I am so happy that I don't  have to repost or sort through 156 books!  You all are wonderful!
