I just read a good-sized wad of past postings about the DIY mail date that gets printed on the mailing label when you choose to have PBS print your mailing label for you. The reason why I read all those postings is that I just printed out a whole bunch of labels for a whole bunch of books, and on one of them (just *one*--darn it!) I screwed up when setting the mail date. It's now set for Friday the 10th, when I have a hard-&-fast agreement w/ my mailees and w/ myself, that the books are all going in the mail on Monday the 6th. I'm afraid I didn't get a clear answer from the postings I read. I feel much more comfortable about being a few days *after* the mail date: I've even chatted with my postmistress about that. But before? By four days? I have no idea. --thanks in advance, and have a good Independence Day! Fiona |

you can mail a book before the printed date. i'm doing that on a couple books because i forgot the post office in my parents town isn't open on saturdays and i can't be bothered to go to the post office anytime next week. |
