I got two books in the mail today. One was a WL book I ordered, and the other one was one I hadn't heard of. Upon further inspection, the Request Id and DC number on the PBS label are the same. The sender also sent the extra wrapper sheet with both books and it looks like she printed the wrapper twice for my WL book and accidentally wrapped a second book with one of the wrappers...so they both made it to me. (Weird that the PO didn't pick up on both packages using the same DC#.)

I PM'd the sender to see if she sent me a freebie, or if it was meant for someone else (before I noticed the same info on both wrappers and realized her mistake). I don't have credits to spare to "pay" her for the extra book...so what other options would happen in this case? I'm still learning the ropes here, and this is definitely my first oops book. :)

Kelly, have the sender give you the name and address of the correct member and send it to them.  The sender needs to send you a credit to cover the cost of postage.

The sender may have to contact the other member and ask for their address if they cannot access the mailing label.

Her mistake.  I have seen threads where this has happened before.  I think she can send you a credit and ask you to forward it on to the correct person (with the theory that the credit would cover the postage).  But I am pretty sure you are under no obligation to do so.

And the third party has to okay the late mailing.

Ok, thanks for the info! Hopefully it'll be an easy fix between them then. At first I thought I'd lost my mind and ordered something I didn't even remember. Ha!

Wasn't there a post in this forum a couple weeks ago about someone who was sending a wishlist book and had another book she thought the person would like, and said she had printed the same wrapper twice and mailed the books separately? Maybe Kelly is the recipient? Seems odd that there'd be more than one of those instances.

Or maybe I'm just crazy and imagined that...

Ooh, that would be too cool, Cheryl. :) I'm not sure though because they were both postmarked 4/23. It is the same genre as my WL book though...hmm...

I remember that same discussion, Cheryl, because we were all wondering how the PO would handle the duplicate DC number....

I had this happen to one of my books... the member accidentally sent it to someone else, and then that person sent it on to me... guess it just took a vacation first :)  I'm glad they were honest about it & didn't just keep it :)
