I had a similar resolution last year. I resolved to stop procrastnating.

It forced me to become more organized which is something I have needed to do for a long time especially when it comes to paperwork, mail, and bills. I also stopped putting off taking better care of myself specifically diet and exercise. I stopped putting off making healthy changes in my life (until the holidays are over, after this next picnic or party) I realized these are challenges I will face the rest of my life, better to learn how to face and deal with them before I put on yet another 10lbs.

The results were immediate and long lasting. I now have a dated to do list, it gets checked and worked on daily, all my deadlines are met on time or within a day or two. My bills are paid early or at least on time, stuff that needs filed gets filed daily. I no longer spend a couple hours a week going through a huge pile of mail a pile of mail. My weight loss has been slow but steady. I am not on a diet - I joined weight watchers. They teach you how to eat anything you want but emphasize eating a balanced healthy diet, portion control and exercise being the main components. My exercise has incresed from nothing to 30 min a day, I hope to increase that in the spring to 45min.

I have come to the conclusion that waiting for New Years to make and start a new resolution is setting myself up for failure. If it is worth making a change in my life there is no better time than now.... so this years resolution is No More Resolutions!
