Hi everyone :)

I am looking for some opinions on Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties series.

I love vampire books, especially steamy ones :)

I would love to hear from those of you who have read the series!

*************Since a lot of you are steering me into the right direction.....I was wondering what anyone thought of the Rosemary Laurey vampire books????

Thanks so much!

Read some of the reviews, the bad one IMHO are spot on.  The 1st was was very good IMHO...or at least a fresh look at the old vampire tale.  The second book was barely mediocre.  The 3rd book was horrible.  The 4th book was okay.  Knowing what I know now...I say skip it.  There is much, much, much better PNR out there.  Her books were soooooooooooooooooooooo bad that I can't even bring myself to read her new series even though I have the 1st one.

Marie-

Thanks so much! I am always nervous to start a new series. I always want to start a series that I am going to enjoy...that way there are more books to follow. There are many good books I have read and wished there was a sequel!

I have read mixed reviews about the book and wasn't sure, that's why I though I'd ask some PBS members how they felt about the books.

:)

Amanda -

Marie and I don't always agree on books, but this is one that I totally agree with her opinion/review  LOL  I made it through the first book and was not thrilled about all the events in the book, but was really looking forward to the next part of the story...  and could not get into the 2nd book in the series at all.  There was no way I was going to waste my time on the 3rd book.

I did try her again and read the first in the Lightworld/Darkworld series, and it was so/so.  It didn't peak my interest to read any more in the series, but it wasn't awful (remember the Melina Morel book Marie?  LOL).

I picked up the book in her new series - American Vampire - it is in my TBR pile so I can't tell you about that one.

I read one of her older series.  It was this huge double book.  Picked it up about six months later to decide to post or not.  Could not remember a thing about it.  Not a good sign at all.   There are so many good series out now.  Keep looking.

I've only given a couple of yuck reviews.  Melina Morel and Carole Nelson Douglas.  (Why is such an experienced writer as CND doing writing this dud?)  This wasn't a yuck.   Just a skip.

I  agree  ugh...  The worst series ever.   Like Marie, I thought the first one was a good premise  but the same story over and over again.  I won't pick up another of her books because of such a bad experience with Blood Ties.  Why did i waste my time reading all 4?  I really wish I knew.

It has been quite a while since I have read the Rosemary Laurey vampire books (the Forever series) but I remember enjoying them - the vampire romance aspect and some humor thrown in.  A very light series if I remember correctly.  I think they have been recently reissued cause I thought there were some new ones and realized that I had already read them...

I jsut got a WL book granted and I clicked the "order more" from the member to see what else she had on her shelf...and sure enough she had:

I ordered it! I figured I'd give it a go :) Plus, this books contains the first 2 books of Laurey's series...so it was kinda like getting a 2 for 1 deal lol
