I have two by her in my TBR and noticed they both seem to be of the "Regency spy" variety, a genre I find tedious in the extreme. Has anyone read her? Anything noteworthy that would make it worth keeping them despite the plot? |

I've read What an Earl Wants, but damned if I can remember a lot about it, except that it's a girl dresses up like a boy - young man, rather - story, and it started off cute, but puttered out in the last half. I haven't been moved to try anything else by Karr since then, but I'd say she's competent, just not exceptional. This is more scarred regency war hero variety; I don't recall any active spying through the course of the book. He's recovering from war wounds for most of it. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful, but that's about all that stands out in my mind:P |

You should see Janet's butfery buns. I read Confessions of a Viscount by Shirley Karr. It was quite awhile ago. It was pretty good. There was very little sex in it though if you like that in your books. There was like one scene on a roof where they fool around a little. But then nothing even on their wedding night-if I remember right. But she was the spy so that was kind of refreshing. Usually he's the spy and she stumbles into his mission. But in this case it was the other way around. |
