I find her very confusing.  I like her books.  I loved the Bayou series.  But, there's something about her writing style that always leaves me confused.  This was especially true with the Court of Angels series (her new paranormal series).  I think I have liked the first two (haven't read the third).  But, I find it odd that I "think" I like a book.  I'm usually not confused about whether or not I like a book.

Does anyone have any input on her as an author and what it is that confuses me about her writing style?

I've read and I like her.  I don't know how to comment on the leaving you confused part.  I've only read the Bayou books. I haven't read any of her historicals or other books yet.  Does she change her style a lot from different types of books?  I know some author's do that.

I know there are some author's that others just love and I've read them and while not hating them just was underwhelmed.

Sorry-not helpful at all I know.

Her older books, contemporary and historicals, used to be some of my favorites. I didn't feel that her Bayou series was that strong and she has to me gone hill as a writer since then. I still buy her books, but only as a UBS sale.

I feel the same way about Christina Dodd. Even when I like them, there always seems to be something in her books that makes me go "huh?"

While I was finishing Out of Sight (the last Court of Angel's book) I realized what it is that puzzles me.  It's her dialog.  I noticed that frequently the conversations she was portraying didn't make a lot of sense to me.  They seem out of whack to what the current situation is.

I tried really hard to like the Court of Angel's trilogy but in the end I think that the plot and how she usedit was very weak and lame.  The books are her entry into the paranormal relm (other than having Wazoo be a psychic in the Bayou books).

I'll probably still read her books because I really liked the Bayou series.

I hate that in books! The last category I reviewed, I wrote that it seemed almost like the characters were speaking in code. Nothing they said seemed to have relevance to anything, including what the other person has just said.

My only Stella Cameron attempt was Finding Ian, and it was a DNF.
