I again have more credits than I can ever use.  If you know of somebody who "deserves" a free book or two (I'll leave it up to you what the meaning of "deserves" might be) let me know and I will order them for them with my credits.  (To be sent to them, of course.)

The only requirements (other than that above) is that there are copies of the book available here.  You will have to provide me with the name and address of to whom  it is to be sent, and you or the recipient has to let me know when it arrives so I can notify the site and senders get their credits.

Probabl;y I could use 20-30 credits ths way if we find some people to send books to.

Thanks

Winston

Surely there are some people that you know of that would appreciate receiving a free book.  Let me know!

Hi, Winston, I am put in mind of an RAOK posting I saw in the October thread (copied and pasted below). I think this is a worthy cause.  If you would prefer, I can provide you with a short list of posted kids books that I would send if I had an excess of credits, or you can contact Angela yourself. Either way, thank you for your consideration!  And feel free to PM me about this or anything else.  Teri

Subject: Books for Kindergarteners

I helped out in one of the Kindergarten classes today and I noticed they had books in their "reading corner" that were torn up and damaged.  If anyone has some young children's books that they would be willing to donate to the school, I know they would really appreciate it.  I don't think it matters if there are marks, just so long as all the pages are there and you can read the print.  It broke my heart to see books with torn binding were in their reading area.  This area is used by the children to read books on their own, so please give books that younger (5 or 6 years old) would enjoy.. even if they just looked at the pictures.

I can either give you my address or the schools.. just send me a message on which you'd prefer.

THANK YOU!

Angela

Winston,

Let me tell you of my friend George. On numerous occassions, i have spent a week or more canoe camping with him on  various wild rivers. Never a better companion could you want. He is also given to, as a part of his makeup, RAOKs himself... he gives stuff away if he sees a need.  He would love the following:

PMing you the address out of respect for his privacy.

Hi Winston,

How kind of you to make this offer!

I'm currently sending books to schoolchildren living in extreme poverty in Zambia. Their schools have barely any books except for a few poorly printed textbooks. In spite of their poverty, the children are delightful, and so appreciative of the books! The teachers are thrilled to have books to use in their classrooms and the benefits to their students are tremendous. Education is the only hope these children have for a way out of poverty, so books literally save lives.

If you'd like to use a credit to get a book for one of the schools, I'll happily give you some suggestions and include your gift in the next box I send.

I will also send some extras if any of my books fit the person. Not much for kids but lots of other stuff.

Great offer! Hope you find some deserving folks.

My friend, Christina, a young mother, would like these two books if you still have credits for this:
