Last week, I ordered two books from a member.  Today, I received one book in one package from the member.  The other wasn't in the package, nor was it in a different one.  Could the sender have put it in another package that just hasn't gotten here yet?

Both books were marked "mailed," but I find it odd that they just didn't mail both books at the same time to save money.  Could he just have forgotten to put the other book in the mail, or didn't realize that I ordered two from his shelf?  Should I PM him?

Thanks for the help!  This has never happened to me before.  :)

Usually if more than one book is requested they are sent together.

Once I ordered two books and he sent them separately. Don't know why but he did. It costs less to ship them together.

You could pm the sender and ask if they were sent separately and let him know you received one but not the other so you were just curious.

My guess is the orders went to 2 seperate people.  Either the 1st person cancelled one of the books you ordered or you ordered from the book description page and it put the order to FIFI.

I often order 2 books from members ... and only once did they come in separate packages. (Have no idea why, they came from the same person and were mailed the same day)

I would check my Books En Route tab to see if they are even coming from the same state, and then use the PM link to see if they are being requested from the same member.

If they are, then PM the person to check into it ... maybe they didn't realize, or maybe they did it on purpose for some reason.

Yup, make sure the books actually were ordered from the same person. If you were on their bookshelf and then clicked on the book details and hit "order this book" there, the book went through FIFO to the person who was first in line with the book rather than from that specific person. You have to click "order this book" right on their shelf, NOT the book details page, even if you got to that page via the member's shelf.

I did once send 2 books in separate packages to the same person--they had ordered the books a few hours apart and I had already printed the label for the one book and packaged it. Later in the day I was surprised to get another order that I noticed when I printed the label was from the same person.

Was there a PBS slip with the book? Did it list just the one book? Then he printed the labels separately and could have mailed separately. I have received orders up to 4 books mailed individually. They always managed to get delivered on the same day though.

i received the book in the mail today!  :)  I live on campus, and the mail that I picked up earlier was yesterday's mail.  So when I went back awhile ago to the dorm's front desk to ask a question, I checked my mail again and the package was there.  :)  So he did mail two different packages.

I PMed him earlier just to ask and right now PMed him again to let him know that it was received.  It's just odd that they weren't delivered on the same day, but it's the USPS so...:)

Thanks everyone for the help!
