I found a series I would like to read (one of many!) and I'm one of those people that needs to have the entire set before I start reading. It's "Chicks with Sticks". It's about a teenaged girls knitting group. If I like it I want to pass it on to my niece. (1) I found the first book - trade size paperback now on my TBR list. This is the hard cover version. (2) The second book is available to order here at PBS; it's in both paperback and hard cover, I don't know if the paperback is trade sized though. I have not ordered it yet. (3) The third book is not available here and I added it to my WL. I am 1 of 1, but it is hardcover only. It was last posted here 10/23/11. If I go to Amazon it seems the listing for this book in paperback and the second are somehow conflated. Here too, if you click on the paperback link for this, it gives you the book search for the other two in the series. I want the whole set to be the same format, hopefully in paperback, since I have the first one in paperback, but I don't know if it's available that way. If you have it or does anyone know if #3 can be found in paperback? Or should I just get the first in hardcover and and order the second and third hardcover too? This edition is listed here as being 5.66 x 8.26 x 0.76 inches, which would be trade sized.
(This edition, the one you own, is listed here as being 8.2 x 5.5 x 0.9 inches, trade sized.)
You could set up a requestor condition specifying that you want the book only if it is a trade edition, measuring about 8 x 5 1/2.
But FantasticFiction indicates that the third book, Knitwise, has only been published in hardcover. So if you want all three at once in the same format, you'll either have to wait for it to come out in paperback, or get the hardcovers.

I'd order the hardcover versions of it. From what I can find via searching library catalogs the third one (published in 2007) is only hardcover and guessing did not do well enough to come out in paperback.

Thanks Patouie and xengab, I'm ordering the hardcover versions of the first two and, hopefully, the third one will be posted soon. |
